Context: Rarely do we come across content that feels like it explains parts of us better than even we could. This repository is a collection of those parts of me, that I can never put into words. These works extend me as a person, and shape the way I perceive the world and my life.

1. Tick Tick…BOOM!

Jonathan Larson questions his life as he turns 30. His cells are exploding with his art as he relentlessly works towards his perfection. His passion wonderfully captured by Garfield as he ‘becomes him’, I could not have found a better way to begin my quarter life, and crisis.

P.S. I strongly relate with the impulsive, hyperactive, hyper-focus of Larson, and in his insanity, I feel sane.

2. Swades

As an over ambitious, nerdy, middle class Indian, I expected myself enrolled in a western university as soon as I graduated, with a dull, cultureless future of bland homes and food sweetened with some green dollars. Until one day, in 2021, I found myself ditching the American dream to work in rural India.

3. Madness in the Desert

After falling in love with the making of Gangs of Wasseypur, this was a pure Netflix stumble-upon. One lesson from the making of Lagaan: discipline, persistence and resilience in the act of creativity.

by director Satyajit Bhatkal

4. Mayor

Meet the mayor of the unofficial capital of Palestine. Recommended by a friend and journalist, I hold this story very close to me. It gave me a very human perspective to one of the greatest wars of my time, that pulled away the armchair beneath my intellectual butt.

Mayor by David Osit

5. Never Have I Ever

I love Mindy Kaling. I can sell my soul to her for giving me this. and The Office. Devi, her obsession with grades, her girl comrades, and the harmless drama she is surrounded by is extremely relatable.

Never Have I ever

6. Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee

If this one friend recommends something, I make sure I consume it. But honestly, I have not yet consumed it. It is the exact energy of witty humorous conversations that I deeply value. I watch this one slowly, its my medication.

7. Kaan Masti

Years ago, in a bad, bad, workplace that was sucking the soul out of me, I found my coworker sitting by himself on the terrace, and giggling like a 5 year old. From then onwards, this mindless podcast became my lifebuoy. When life gets too serious, this is where I go. The best part is, that they always begin on a serious note and the tangent of thought goes places where you never dreamt they would.

I do not want to live a life where I cannot laugh at susu-potty jokes.

8. Pretend Its a City

Big nose, big opinions. Period.

I love Fran. If I am halfway as cool as she is at 72, I look forward to being 72.

9. Fleabag

Gets very personal with the hot priest drama.

10. Jigsaw

Jigsaw is one of the greatest theories known to humankind. Daniel Sloss is the godman I follow.

11. Into the Wild

Dear Alexander Supertramp, I embody your peace and chaos every once in a while. You make it easier to go back to the world.

12. The Perks of Being a Wallflower

In my second year of college, I waged a war against my deep social anxiety, introversion and a speech disorder. This book and movie gave me the validation in times I needed it the most.
